The ECRT was organized to provide backup radio communications and other support to governmental and civic agencies Federak the times of emergency or disaster. Comms Academy is two days of training and information on various FFederal Federal way amateur radio club emergency communications, and is open to anyone with an interest in emergency communications, whether a volunteer or professional. Presentations are designed to promote the development of knowledgeable, skilled emergency communicators who will support their local communities during a disaster or emergency response.

While the actual gathering is scheduled for May 18th, many hams attending the gathering will be arriving on Friday and departing on Sunday.
