Dr John Low Seng Hooi

Clinical Oncologist

Dr John Low was an ASEAN scholar and obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore. He received his oncology training at the Singapore National Cancer Centre and was later awarded the Singapore Ministry of Health scholarship to further train in Clinical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, UK. He obtained his Membership to the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK (MRCP) and was a Gold Medalist in the Fellowship examination, being conferred the Frank Doyle Medal upon admission to the Chapter of Clinical Oncology, Royal College of Radiologists, UK (FRCR). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow (FRCP).
Dr Low was a Consultant Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre and Visiting Consultant to the KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Singapore. He was a clinical tutor with the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore and the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Singapore Nanyang Polytechnic. He was a member of the Singapore representative in the UICC-TNM Staging Committee (Union Internationale Contre le Cancer -TNM staging). He is currently the Resident Consultant Oncologist at the Cancer Institute in Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Low is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) as well as a Member of the Malaysian Academy of Medicine (AM). He is a member of various International Oncological Societies including ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology), ASTRO (American Society for Radiation Oncology), SEAROG (South East Asian Radiation Oncology Group), MOS (Malaysian Oncological Society) and SSO (Singapore Society of Oncology).
Besides clinical practice, Dr Low is active in clinical cancer research and scientific publication. He is the first author of multiple papers in peer-reviewed medical journals. He is the principal investigator in several ongoing multicentre international cancer drug trials at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur in Breast, Lung, Prostate, Liver and Head & Neck Cancers.
